Ryu Jun Yeol’s Real Reason For Skipping “Reply 1988” Event Revealed Following Speculations About Hyeri
The misunderstanding surrounding actor Ryu Jun Yeol’s absence from the Reply 1988 10th anniversary reunion has been cleared up.
On the 16th, actors Lee Dong Hwi and Go Kyung Pyo appeared in a YouTube video alongside PD Na Young Seok to reminisce about the drama Reply 1988 and share behind-the-scenes stories.
During the show, PD Na Young Seok mentioned that to celebrate the drama’s 10th anniversary, the cast went on a two-day, one-night trip together. He explained, “All the Ssangmun-dong family members actually gathered without missing a single person,” adding, “Ryu Jun Yeol, who had a shooting schedule that day, stopped by briefly in the morning before leaving.”
In other words, Ryu Jun Yeol was unable to join the entire trip due to his busy filming schedule, but he did take some time to appear at the event commemorating the 10th anniversary. This clarifies that he did not deliberately avoid the gathering as some rumors had suggested.
Previously, Ryu Jun Yeol developed a romantic relationship with Hyeri through Reply 1988, publicly dating for about seven years before breaking up in 2023. Following reports of Ryu Jun Yeol dating Han So Hee in 2024, Hyeri’s comment “Interesting” on social media sparked renewed attention. This led to speculation that Ryu Jun Yeol’s absence from the 10th anniversary reunion might be related to his relationship with Hyeri.
However, PD Na Young Seok’s explanation revealed that Ryu Jun Yeol simply couldn’t join all the events due to scheduling, but did not avoid attending the meaningful 10th anniversary celebration of Reply 1988.
