Popular Idol-Turned-Producer Accused Of Physically And Verbally Abusing Staff
Former DMTN (Dalmatian) member and current XG producer JAKOPS (also known as SIMON) was recently reportedly been arrested in Japan on charges of drug possession.
Following news of his arrest, additional allegations have surfaced claiming that SIMON had a history of abusive behavior toward employees and staff. According to reports by Bunshun, SIMON’s alleged abuse of power toward employees had “long become a norm” within the company and was described as a serious internal issue.
One source claimed that he would often intimidate and verbally abuse staff.
“If we made a mistake or he simply got irritated, he would slam the table or throw plastic bottles on the floor to startle us. He would also get close to us and intimidate us, saying things like, ‘Go die, are you kidding me?’ or using crude expressions like ‘F*ck.‘ Sometimes he cursed at us using extremely vulgar Korean insults.”
The source also alleged that the behavior escalated beyond verbal intimidation.
“Some staff members were even physically attacked — he kicked people and even hit them in the head. He would usually apologize after getting angry, but would repeat the behavior again later.”
Over the past two years, at least ten employees have resigned or requested reassignment because they felt unhappy working with him. In addition to staff allegations, reports claim that the members of XG were deeply affected by the situation.
“When the members first learned about the situation, they were extremely emotionally unstable. They were afraid of losing SIMON as their leader, but more importantly, they strongly wished to continue promoting under the name XG. I heard they discussed the matter under the guidance of Chisa, the oldest member and sub-leader, and ultimately concluded that they wanted to ‘do better than ever for the fans and everyone involved.’”
As of now, official statements regarding both the arrest and the abuse allegations remain limited. The situation continues to develop as fans await further clarification from the parties involved. You may read more on his arrest below.
